Arginine is a non-essential amino acid that is a building block for making proteins in the body. There are 20 amino acids, 9 of which are essential, which means they must be consumed as our bodies cannot make them.
Arginine has become popular as a supplement for high blood pressure / cardiovascular dysfunction and is often found in supplements for erectile dysfunction. In the body, arginine is converted into nitric oxide, which leads to the expansion of blood vessels and an improvement in blood circulation. Because of this increased blood flow, it can be helpful in erectile dysfunction (ED) treatment.
A new study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine looked at 10 different studies to analyze those Effectiveness of arginine on ED and found that arginine was effective in treating mild to moderate ED.
Additionally, arginine can help with sperm production, especially when taken with other dilators, antioxidants, or anti-inflammatories. However, more research is needed on this subject. It is important to discuss supplements with your doctor before taking them, as they can interfere with a topical medication or have harmful side effects.
